Well, I finally responded to my cousin's anti-Obama emails. For years, family members have been getting emails that can be easily debunked, but they have been mostly met with silence, as most saw it pointless to make an effort that would make no impact whatsoever.
NO LONGER! Here is my response to which I received multiple responses from family members (leaving my cousin's email off the list) complimenting me on it. No response yet from her.

Most of us have been mostly silent as recipients of your informative emails. I have come to the realization that I owe it to you to finally respond in kindness. It is of no surprise to anyone on this email list that our political views differ and I have stayed silent on discussing the issues with you out of respect for our family ties. I have seen it over and over again how politics have come between family members.
I could only imagine how disheartening it must have been for you that President Obama was reelected to another 4 years (by a nice size margin if I may add). However, his reelection, if you think about it, will bring 4 more years of peace and civility to our family.
Over the last 5 years, the 2008 primaries included, we have been forwarded emails warning us about the destruction of America, Sharia Law, death panels, killing of grandmas, your guns being taken away, taxes being increased to 50%, end of life care including assisted suicide, the United Nations having control over our elections, U.N treaties banning the 2nd amendment, and I think there was even one about Obama being the anti-Christ.
If the unfortunate act that Gov Romney won the presidency, I would have been forced to openly question your stability since none of those things had come true. I would have been forced to mock you for getting your political knowledge from email forwards and facebook posts, instead of the traditional way through effort and research. I would also have had to take the time to explain to you that effective policy is not a phrase that fits comfortably on a bumper sticker. Such behaviors on my part may have been detrimental to our relationship and overall family functioning.
Thankfully, due to President Obama's reelection, our family has been blessed with 4 more years of peace while we wait and see whether your predictions/concerns of him will eventually come true and before we really call you out on your bullshit.
